Serves as part of the Epilepsy Center of Excellence team in Neurology Service, taking a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the assessment and treatment of seizure problems in the veteran population. Provides leadership in setting and maintaining standards of practice and performance goals related to the care of veterans with epilepsy in accordance with guidelines and policies established by NF/SG VHS, VISN 8, and the VHA. Has responsibilities related to the organization, clinical practice, research and education within Neurology Service. Advanced clinical practice that is characterized by sound clinical knowledge/judgment; evidence-based research; patient advocacy; and good customer service. Sees new consults and returns patients in Seizure Clinic. Provides care for inpatients admitted to the epilepsy monitoring unit. Prepare and make case presentation for weekly epilepsy management conference. Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team regarding the care and treatment of the identified patient population.
