EOE POSITION REQUIREMENTS Works under the supervision of the Senior Director, Nursing Administration. Provides expertise in Surgery to facilitate the development and maintenance of quality, cost-effective patient care specific programs and services. Fosters the advancement of OR nursing practice. Through involvement in clinical consultation and direct patient care, assesses and improves the patient care process for the surgery patient population along the continuum of care; serving as an expert clinical resource for ensuring quality of care and customer satisfaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that evidence-based practice is implemented and understood by the Patient Services staff. Serves as a link integrating relevant research, best practice and clinical delivery processes at Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center and the broader CHW system. Serves the hospital as an advanced practice nurse for the Operating and PACU nursing staff. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in unit specific Competency Assessment tools. Experience/Specialized Skills:Three years recent acute care experience in Operating Room nursing practice with demonstrated leadership experience required. Prefer minimum one year in the advanced practice role in specialty nursing practice. Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors. Knowledge of adult learning theory and group dynamics. Required Education/Course(s)/Training:Masters Degree in Nursing required (must be enrolled in a masters program within 1 year of start date if no masters degree).Nurse Practitioner credential or CNS certificate in area of clinical specialization preferred. Required Certification/Registration:Current California RN License,CNOR preferred. AHA ACLS and BLS required.BLS/ACLS instructor preferred.
