Adena Health System Seeks Director of Nursing, Inpatient
Adena Health System is seeking a dynamic nurse leader to join their team. This two hospital non-profit system with 300 beds and gross revenue in excess of $500M is located just 45 miles south of Columbus, OH. Adena has crafted a strategic plan for significant growth and in September 2008 opened the PACCAR Medical Education Center which serves as the home of the Wright State Miami Valley College of Nursing and Healths BSN program. The Nursing Director, Inpatient will have responsibility for the 3 medical and surgical units, an inpatient psych unit, and the emergency department. The position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and has direct supervisory experience over unit Nurse Managers and Assistant Managers. This newly created position will serve as a leader and mentor both within their respective departments and throughout the health system.Resource management including recommending an appropriate staffing plan, space management, and selection of outside services when necessary are essential functions of this role. Staff development including orientation, professional development, in-service training, continuing education, and evaluating manager and employee performance are main responsibilities. Demonstrating customer satisfaction both internally and externally is key. The Director of Nursing role includes developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of department services. Additional duties include maintaining appropriate quality control programs and ensuring compliance with appropriate patient care and business practices.Ideal candidates will possess a BSN, with a preference for a Masters degree in Nursing, Health, Business Administration or related field. Requirements also include a minimum of 3 years managerial experience in the assigned area, including experience managing several cost centers at once.
