Workers´ Compensation Manager - Relocation Assistance Available
POSITION SUMMARY:The Workers Compensation Manager effectively manages the workers compensation and injury prevention program which minimizes Harrisons costs, assures the provision of appropriate benefits, and limits disruptions to daily operations of the organization due to time loss, while ensuring compliance with all associated state and federal laws and regulations.Coordinates with departmental leadership, outside counsel and TPA in claims administration and claims review. Coordinates with external representatives in settlement of claims, and appropriately updates Director, as to complex, unique, or expensive claims. Works with the Safety Committee and Employee Health to create a safe work environment for all employees; trains supervisors and managers to effectively respond to injuries and encourages prevention strategies in a manner that supports the overall goal of reducing the frequency and severity of workers claims. Returns injured employees to a healthy, productive status at the earliest possible opportunity; becomes self-sufficient and efficient in the case management of injured workers. Provides meaningful statistics to evaluate the programs success and identify problem areas that could potentially increase liability; provides reports to director to demonstrate areas that could potentially increase liability; provides reports to managers to demonstrate the nature, frequency and costs associated with their employee injuries and illnesses. Performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates Harrisons core values: Empathy, Accountability, and Innovation.EDUCATION REQUIRED:Registered Nurse; Bachelor of Science or Masters preferred in a Healthcare-related field. SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIRED:Workers Compensation in Washington State Case Management CertificationSafety and Loss Prevention Occupational Health Nursing in an acute care hospital setting LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:Registered Nurse in Washington StateCase Management Certification required; 3-5 years experience in Self-Insurance Workers CompensationOccupational Health Nurse Certification required in 2 years.
