CARDIAC CATH LAB RN
Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, this facility is the home of the popular Prime and Tanger Outlet Malls. We are also the home of Texas State University and one of the largest natural springs in Texas. Special services offered at this Medical Center include a 24-hour emergency center and a Minor Emergency Center available until 11:00 p.m. The emergency department is a fully equipped 20-bed department providing specialty care for cardiology, pediatric, orthopedic and obstetric patients. The facility has sexual assault nurse examiners (SANEs) available 24-hours a day to assist victims of sexual assault. Other services offered include a 16-slice CAT scanner, PET/CT scanner, maternity club for expectant mothers, outpatient surgery, rehabilitation services that include physical, speech and occupational therapy, an MRI unit and a cardiac catheterization lab. More than 1,115 babies were born in 2005 and over 30,000 patients were cared for in our emergency department. This hospital offers a variety of classes and workshops. These are offered free or for a nominal charge. The Center for Wellness & Sports Performance promotes self-care and preventive medicine. The specially trained staff works closely with physicians to design personalized programs that help individuals attain their fitness goals. As an added benefit, the employees have full fitness center privileges at a discounted rate which can be paid monthly via payroll deduction.On September 4, 2008, (due to open November 2009) we broke ground on a $35 Million expansion project that will include a 2-story 64,000 square foot addition for a total of 139 private beds. The expansion will create a new Surgery Suite with 6 operating rooms and 36 Medical/Surgical Cardiac-Monitored beds.
