Looking to hire a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner to work for a School Based Health Center in Newark, NJ. Candidate must be licensed as an NP in the state of NJ, have valid NJ CDS and DEA. Must be either Board certified or Board eligible as a Nurse Practitioner. Duties include:1. Assesses the individual and family health status of children, considering the needs as seen by the individual.2.Secures health histories, performs physical examinations and screening tests.3.Records acquired data in a systematic and accurate form.4.Contributes to the health education of individuals and groups, and applies methods designed to increase each persons motivation to assume responsibility for his/her own health.5.Plans and implements routine care practices in collaboration with medical and other health professionals.6.Identifies and helps in the management of social, economic, and environmental influences affecting the patient and his family.7.Assesses and manages common acute and chronic illnesses in accordance with protocols.8.Prescribes selective medications while understanding orders of the physician.9.Assists in managing and the planning for referral of complex health problems.10.Assists in the establishment of policies and procedures relevant to comprehensive, longitudinal care.11.Supports and carries out such policies and procedures.12.Contributes to the comprehensive care of sick children in ambulatory care setting in collaboration with the responsible physician.13.Collaborates with the primary care physician in the development and coordination of health care plans involving family and community to enhance the quality of health care and diminish both fragmentation and duplication of services.14.Participates in outreach programs and screening programs for case identification and follow-up, and community health education.15.Provides night call coverage by phone.16.Within the health care team, uses principles of group development to better understand his/her colleagues and to make the health care [1]team more efficient and effective.We offer a great benefit package including CME, vacation and personal time as well as Medical coverage.
