Purpose:To support the Clinical Coordinator in providing high quality customer service for both internal andexternal customer.This position consistently supports compliance and Kaiser Permanente´s Code of Conduct by adheringto federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements and Kaiser Permanente´s policies and procedures.In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating servicebehaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission aswell as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistentlydemonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior andculturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providersand vendors.Accountabilities:1. Provides direct patient care, triage member calls, makes patient call-backs for providers,performs patient teaching, and performs and assists with procedures (Based on provider orders) andapplicable regulatory laws.2. Coordinates patient care for hospital admissions, specialty referrals, IV Care for AHC, new momassessment protocol (OB), MCCP (Peds), and ancillary support departments.3. Makes monthly staffing schedules and day-to-day work assignments to department staff. Assessesworkloads, on an on-going basis and makes special assignments, during peak and slow periods.Collects and codes department time sheets4. Calls in staff to meet minimum staffing requirements, including authorizing overtime,coordinating with other clinical teams to cover staff shortages and processes provider schedulechanges when delegated by the Clinical Coordinator.5. Handles difficult and problematic work situations, including resolving member issues.6. Serves as resource for other staff members by answering questions; orients new staff, andidentifies staff needs for training (and provides in-service training as needed).7. Performs special projects as assigned by the CC.8. Routinely provides feedback to CC for staff performance, work habits, and barriers to efficient,high quality work.9. Assists development and revision of department procedures.10. Performs other related duties as directed.Relevant Years of Experience:- A least one-year of current experience in HMO or ambulatory setting with emphasis patienteducation is required.- Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.- Experience in IV Therapy is required.- Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred.- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communications skills are required.- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical systems and processes is required.Education and/or Classes:- B.S.N. is preferred.License, Certification and/or Designation:- Current RN license in appropriate jurisdiction is required.
