The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for all processes that pertain to infecdtions diseases, including trending, tracking, monitoring and evaluating infection control parmeters as defined by the CDC, JCAHO, THHS and other accrediting bodies. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards regarding infection control. Responsible for working collaboratively with all hospital staff regarding infection control issues and complaince. Conducts ongoing education programs around infection control. Takes a proactive approach to Infection Control.Qualifications Required Job Qualifications include:* Current Texas licensure as an RN * Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing required. * Two - four years experience as an Infection control practioner in an acute care setting. * Nurse epidemiology Certification preferred. * Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. * Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision meeting firm deadlines. * Assertive and persuasive communication skills, action oriented.
