Worth-Medical Center of Plano - PlanoSchedule: Full-time Description The Assistant Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse supervises nursing service activities in assigned nursing unit for the duration of the assigned shift or in the absence of nursing management. The task and responsibilities of this position include:- Participates actively in the planning and distribution of patient assignments.- Evaluates the effectiveness of care and addresses any issues that affect the desired patient outcomes.- Supports nursing staff in communication with physicians to include accepting doctors´ orders and communicating patient condition.- Facilitates the process of reporting patient status to the following shift of nursing personnel.- Manages the nursing care of assigned patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. - Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs. - Carries out physician orders.- Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.- Provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.- Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. - Instructs and educates patients and families.- Assesses and coordinates patient´s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.- Provides age and culturally appropriate care.- Orients and mentors new staff members.- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. The ED Nurse E/M Coder is responsible to conform to all HCA, Facility and CPT coding requirements and standards. This position will utilize Meditech, TEV and other software programs to complete the tasks. Will perform chart analysis and document review for accuracy of documentation, complete level assessment and ensuring appropriate E&M codes and trauma levels are identified. Data will also be reviewed for data entry of Central Supplies and Pharmacy charges. -Identifies opportunities for improvement and assist with education to the nursing as well as the medical staff. -Will work cooperatively with HIM to facilitate physician completion of records.-Reviews medical records for all ER and CDU patients in accordance with HCA, Facility and CPT guidelines.-Assures sufficient documentation and physician orders are recorded to substantiate assignment of charges.-Assigns and Order Entries into Meditech appropriate E&M levels, and other identifiable charges including CPT Procedures, Central Supplies, and other approved by HCA and the Facility to be appropriate.-Reconciles and reviews charges entered for any keyed errors.-Assembles and presents completed chart to HIM for final coding and disposition.-Maintains any retained documents for supportive issues not submitted to HIM within HCA and Facility guidelines. Required Job Qualifications include: -Graduate of a school of nursing.-RN or LVN-HIM experience required.-ED experience preferred.

The tasks and responsibilities include:-Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs.-Prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.-Carries out physician orders.-Assists physician during examination, treatment and procedures.-Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.-Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.-Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. -Instructs and educates patients and families.-Assesses and coordinates patients discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.-Provides age and culturally appropriate care.-Orients and mentors new staff members.-Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
