PRN eves/Sats + on callThe PACU RN provides nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:- Assesses, plans and evaluates the nursing care needs of the patient in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period. - Provides comfort and support for post-operative patients.- Evaluates responses to treatments and interventions.- Carries out physician orders.- Anticipates case specific needs based on knowledge of procedure and pathophysiology regarding patient and procedure.- Manages patient�s pain.- Administers prescribed medications and monitors vital signs.- Maintains aseptic technique and actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.- Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. - Provides age and culturally appropriate care.- Orients and mentors new staff members.- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

The HCA North Texas Division is opening a patient transfer call center which will be located on The Medical Center of Plano campus. The Patient Transfer Center RN is responsible for triage of patients to an appropriate HCA North Texas Division hospital through inpatient and ED transfers and direct admissions. The RN representative is responsible for providing callers with a telephone resource to the most appropriate healthcare service based on urgency and acuity of individual healthcare needs. Utilizing a computerized system of approved clinical protocols and health information, the RN representative will assess, educate and advise patients and their family members on health concerns, and provide safe, effective and appropriate disposition of care.The following schedules are available: FT 7a-7p, FT 7p-7a, PRN.Position requirements include:-Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred-Current active RN licensure in the state of TX-Minimum 3-5 years of RN experience in an acute care hospital ED, Critical Care or Step-down unit required-Previous telephone triage experience a plus-Strong patient assessment skills-Working knowledge of EMTALA-Excellent verbal and written communication skills-Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team-Ability to deal in an effective, positive manner with dissatisfied customers-Basic computer skills-Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision-Able to analyze information of a complex nature, organize and prioritize multiple complex tasks, problem solve and make decisions quickly.
