Uses the nursing process at the advanced practice level to provide direct/indirect patient care for a specific population. The advanced practice nursing process includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of a specific population in the acute care setting. The APRN integrates education, research, management, leadership, and consultation into clinical roles, and they function in collegial relationships with members of the health care team. Role models patient- and family-centered care. Master of Science degree in Nursing required. Minimum of 5 years acute care nursing experience in the identified area of expertise preferred. Certification in specialty area preferred. Current BLS required at hire, or training will occur during orientation or at the next available training. Active Colorado Nursing License. Listed on the Advance Practice Registry for the Colorado State Board of Nursing; (or active on another State Board of Nursing registry until pending Colorado Registry is active with Senior Management approval; this individual will not be able to give direct patient care in the advanced practice role until Colorado Board Registered).
