SMCW Imaging Support Services Responsibilities 1. Performs basic population-specific nursing tasks under the delegation and supervision of the RN and according to each patient/clients individualized plan of care. Nursing tasks are provided with courtesy and sensitivity to the needs of the clients. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Collecting, reporting and documentation of data including, but not limited to: ( 2. Vital signs, height, weight, intake and output, oximetry and comfort level ( 3. Specimens for diagnostic study (urine, stool, sputum and blood via finger-stick for blood glucose testing) ( 4. Changes to baseline data established by the RN ( 5. Client or family comments relating to the clients care and behaviors related to the plan of care b. Ambulation, positioning and turning c. Assisting with admissions, discharges, transfers and transportation of patients d. Activities of daily living to include personal hygiene, skin care, bed-making and elimination including vaginal irrigations, cleansing enemas, ostomy care and oral suctioning e. Passing and collecting meal trays/menus and providing food and fluids as ordered f. Socialization activities 6. Maintains confidentiality for written, verbal and computerized information. 7. Provides basic communication and clerical support for unit functions including, but not limited to: a. Assisting with answering and responding to call lights and telephone calls b. Utilizing equipment necessary for communication (intercom system, paging system, fax machine, pneumatic tube system) c. Assembling and maintaining departmental and patient records 8. Provides basic materials management support as needed including, but not limited to: a. Stocking and obtaining unit supplies and equipment b. Identifying, labeling and reporting malfunctioning equipment 9. Provides basic housekeeping duties as needed including, but not limited to: a. Assisting in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment for patients and staff b. Assisting in preparing and stripping rooms as needed Minimum Qualifications High school diploma (or equivalent) OR one (1) year of related experience OR certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) OR participant in formal health care training program is required. Completion of required training within one month of hire is required. Within one month of hire, must obtain CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
