St. Josephs is home to: the internationally renowned Barrow Neurological Institute; St. Josephs Childrens Health Center, which is the second largest provider of comprehensive pediatric services in the state; The Heart & Lung Institute at St. Josephs; and St. Josephs Trauma Center, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in Arizona thats verified by the American College of Surgeons. Founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Mercy, St. Josephs continues to help the underserved through clinics, community grants and outreach programs. The Case Management Department at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center plays a critical role in providing exceptional patient care to its birth to adult in-patient population. By coordinating the delivery of healthcare and social services while balancing individually identified patient and family, medical and psychosocial needs with cost-effective and available resources members of the Case Management Team are dedicated to furthering the mission of the Hospital. Position is for a per diem nurse case manager to assist on weekend or weekdays to cover for full time staff absences or for high census acuity staffing. Primary job functions are utilization review and discharge planning, working together with the social workers for discharge services. The successful candidate must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and have superior problem solving skills are keys to success in the position. REQUIREMENTS: Educational Requirements: Associate Degree BSN Preferred Completion of RN program Experience Requirements: Four years progressively varied clinical and administrative experience. License/Registration/Certification: RN license BLS Certification PREFERRED SKILLS: Prior case management or utilization review experience, the ability to work in both adult and pediatric areas and they ability to use medical criteria applications such as internal or Milliman are strongly preferred.
