Foster School of Medicine and the upcoming El Paso Children´s Hospital are features never before available in our community that can help further you career.We are looking for a Pediatric Transport Team Nurse and invite you to be part of the evolution taking place at our hospital.Position SummaryThe Transport Team Nurse is responsible for the assessment, treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients during the transport process. Works under the direction of the Transport Team Nurse Manager and Medical Director and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. The Nurse can function autonomously in an advanced clinical role with responsibilities in the areas of clinical care, leadership, education, consultation and research. The Transport Team Nurse contributes to the provision of quality care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Assists management in developing systems, processes and programs to improve the quality of patient care and increase nursing efficiency throughout the transport process. Develops, coordinates, and monitors unit preceptor program in collaboration with nurse managers.Education/Work Experience RequirementsBSN degree form an accredited school of nursing.Three (3) years clinical nursing experience in PICU or NICU. Critical care transport experience preferred.License/CertificationsCurrent Texas RN license.Current ACLS, PALS, APLS, NRP and STABLE certifications.SkillsComprehensive knowledge of routine and critical procedures with critical thinking skills for both neonatal and pediatric patients.Ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient problems.Demonstrated expertise in transport equipment and modalities, emergency care procedures, oxygen delivery capabilities of various transport vehicles, and patient management at high altitudes.University Medical Center of El Paso offers an excellent compensation & benefits package and will assist with relocation to El Paso, TX.
