Foster School of Medicine and the upcoming El Paso Childrens Hospital are features never before available in our community that can help further you career.We are looking for a Pediatric Clinical Expert.Position SummaryThe Pediatrics Clinical Expert functions autonomously in an advanced clinical role with responsibilities in the areas of clinical care, leadership, education, consultation and research.The Pediatrics Clinical Specialist collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team in the planning and delivery of cost-effective health care to the pediatric patient populations and assesses, evaluates, and implements educational programs to meet the needs of the patient, family and employees. The Pediatric Clinical Expert measures effectiveness of practice changes and programs and consults with nursing staff on patient related problems, provides recommendations, and assists in their resolution. Utilizes the research process to support and enhance patient care. The Pediatric Clinical Expert assists management in development of systems, processes and programs to improve the quality of patient care and increase nursing efficiency and develops, coordinates and monitors unit preceptor program in collaboration with nurse managers.Education/Work Experience Requirements Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN), or must obtain MSN degree within one year of employment. Five (5) years pediatric nursing care experience preferably in a specialty area, i.e., PICU, NICU, etc., of which one (1) should be in similar role.License/Certifications Current Texas RN license. Current BCLS. PALS and/or NRP certifications.Skills Must possess critical thinking and problems solving skills. Skilled in the use of computer systems and related software applications. Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. Must have knowledge of hospital systems and organizational relationships. Bilingual English/Spanish desired.
