A Level 1 trauma center, we now seek a professional experienced in developing education opportunities for our valued nursing staff.The Senior Nurse Educator functions within the roles of educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant, researcher and leader.Responsible for:• assessment, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs that enhance performance, promote professional development or otherwise supports the mission and vision of the Department of Nursing (DON). • classroom and clinical teaching in the Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies Second Degree BSN program or other affiliated partnerships with schools of nursing. • Must Possess: • Bachelor´s of Science in Nursing• Master´s degree in Nursing, Health Care or Business Administration required.• PhD, EdD, or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred.• Five to seven years of progressively more responsible job related experience.• Experience in teaching or staff development experience preferred.• A license as a registered nurse in the District of Columbia is required.• Specialty Certification in nursing staff professional development or in specific clinical specialty must be obtained within one year of hire.
