An innovative leader in the delivery of womens health care and research, Magee is elegantly designed and welcoming with state-of-the-art technology for diagnosis and treatment.We have an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Research to help support the operations of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Services at our Oakland location. This position will involve working primarily daylight hours including some weekends and on-call hours. This is a new fulltime research position for a unique research opportunity. The primary research will focus on the investigation of therapeutic drugs during pregnancy (but not exclusively), primarily HIV prevention research in pregnancy. This is a rarely studied field, but increasingly recognized as important. Experience performing pediatric/neonatology examinations desired. Approximate start date will be March 2010. Any long-term position will be contingent upon continued funding. Registered Nurse applicants with related experience will be considered.Responsibilities:-Performs complete physical exams, and obtains complete medical history and records findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.-Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines.-Performs procedures as directed by physician and/or as directed by written agreement.-Documents patient information and care provided in patient record and maintains statistics. Initiates or completes administrative tasks and acquires all necessary information, instructions, and materials as required.-Participates in activities that contribute to education and research.-Complies with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies.-Performs all other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:-Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program required. -BSN or MSN preferred. -Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience preferred.-Experience performing pediatric/neonatology examinations desired. Labor and delivery, obstetric experience and/or research experience is preferred but not mandatory.Licensure/Certifications:-Current state RN license and CRNP certification required. -Current CPR certification required.-Applicants with RN licensure will also be considered.
