As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a difference working with the GMC Adult Critical Care patient population.In partnership, this experienced Nurse Practitioner, under physician responsibility and supervision, Performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physicians to extend their knowledge in the sphere of decision-making required to establish a diagnosis and to plan the appropriate therapy. Assists in gathering the data necessary to implement the therapeutic plan of the physician. Provides continuity care and advocacy for patients,Serves as liaison between physicians and patients, Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Manages patients admitted for observation as well as patients admitted for intensive therapy, performs initial examination and initiates therapyInitiates CPR, and administration of vasoactive medication fluids, anti-arrhythmic agents, and other life saving medications in the event of an emergency.Manages patients in shock requiring hemodynamic monitoring and vasopressors.Performs invasive procedures including insertion of arterial lines, central venous catheters, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, lumbar puncture, and other procedures as appropriate.Performs and records H&Ps, Completion of medical records and documentation in a timely manner,Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as directed by the physician.In concert with physician, writes orders for laboratory, diagnostic imagines, consultations and medicines.Must be able to work weekends and holidays.Must be able to work various 12 hour shifts Must have current BLS and also have completed or be eligible for quickly obtaining ACLS and/or ATLS.Our successful candidate will have a strong desire to work with hospital patients and their families.
