Lahey Clinic is recruiting a second full-time, Advanced Care Practitioner to join its Department of Emergency Medicine.
Lahey is a stroke center, and has one of the few cardiac catheterization labs in the immediate area. The Department consists of 22 beds and boasts a fully-integrated e-health system. The Emergency Department sees approximately 37,500 cases per year with a high level of patient acuity. The department includes 15 physicians and a strong support staff. Lahey Clinic is an ACS verified, Level II Trauma Center.Successful applicants will have very strong diagnostic skills. The ability to formulate clinical decisions to manage acute and chronic illness and promote wellness is essential. Previous progressive experience across a broad spectrum of clinical practice is important, as is the ability to manage and coordinate a high-acuity patient case-load. Candidates should be self-starters with records of excellent time management and organizational skills.Under the direction and supervision of a physician, and with the established practice guidelines for a Nurse Practitioner, the practitioner is responsible for performing a variety of duties in the evaluation, treatment plan, care and diagnosis, and follow-up of assigned patients. This position will work independently but also collaboratively with the current Nurse Practitioner. The practitioner may also provide preventative, preoperative and post-operative, or urgent care.The shift is variable as needed. Evenings, Nights, and some weekends will be included.Education:Prospective candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program. Candidates must also maintain certification through Clinical Education Units. Certification and Licensure:Prospective candidates must have current license and/or be eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Candidates must also have CPR certification.
