JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Administrator for Critical Care, Emergency/Trauma, Care Mgmt./Social Work/Palliative Care leads the patient care services and maintains accountability for the overall administration and management of these services to ensure efficient, high quality, patient/family focused care; builds relationships resulting in compassionate and committed teams within the services; and plans and implements projects critical to the success of the organization. All work must be done with a thorough understanding of and commitment to PeaceHealth culture including core values and the Leadership Model. This Assistant Administrator is also an integral part of the Regional Hospital Operations Council (RHOC). Will be responsible for operational targets for all areas of control and will be expected to work with and assist other RHOC members to get to good outcomes for the whole organization. Under the supervision of the Vice President of Patient Care Services, will make decisions affecting strategy, implementation and management of resources and will problem solve operating issues involving medical staff and physician practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Within the framework of the Leadership Model, provide leadership for clinical excellence, personnel management, fiscal accountability, operational effectiveness, and positive relations with other departments, members of the medical staff, physician practices, hospital guests and all stakeholders for all areas within scope and span of control. - Collaborates with other peer Leadership Team members and Executives with regard to operations, fiscal accountability, process and system improvement and strategic direction. - Provides leadership for program development and implementation through collaborative relationships to achieve optimal patient care services. - Ensures the presence of on-going quality improvement and champions the continuous improvement process for all areas within scope and span of control. - Provides support and administrative liaison for Critical Care Units, Emergency/Trauma, and Care Management/Social Work/Palliative Care. - Promotes change, facilitates redesign, and implements systems and processes to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation at all PHOR sites. - Takes on additional responsibilities as assigned and/or requested and performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates the Mission and Values of PeaceHealth. Qualifications: EDUCATION/LICENSURE: - Graduate of an accredited State Board of Nursing program. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Oregon, or eligible. - Bachelor’s degree in related field required. BSN highly preferred. Master’s degree in related field highly preferred. EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible nursing management experience is required. SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: - Must have demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team building and continuous improvement. - Must have the ability to think critically, work efficiently, respectfully, and responsibly in a collaborative environment with multiple work demands, and short timeframes. - Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing, be flexible, initiate and lead change, remain current in healthcare environment changes to discern and interpret the potential impact on PHOR.
