A working knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission and other state and local regulatory requirements a must.Summary of Essential Job Duties:The Nurse Manager functions as a leader and an expert professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. Consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes evidence based knowledge and exemplary leadership and educational skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person. Demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within Nursing at the unit, department and institutional levels. The Nurse Manager ensures nursing staff performs within the scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department level and position levels including knowledge of practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Nursing Job duties are to meet the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, Joint Commission, and The Plan for Provision of Nursing Care and The Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements and ensures compliance with the National Patient Safety goals. Management responsibilities include supporting quality performance improvement initiatives and clinical care delivery processes. Responsible for staffing and scheduling, retention of staff, safety and quality management, unit practice council and TCAB in collaboration with management team.
