The Director of Neuroscience Services is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing all functions of the Neurosciences Department in order to support the stated mission, vision and values of The Medical Center of Plano and promote, advocate and support the commitment to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. The tasks and responsibilities include:-Coordinate/integrate services with the hospitals primary function-Work with senior leadership, department directors, unit managers and program coordinators across facilities when necessary and appropriate to streamline processes, develop best evidence-based clinical protocols and facilitate Neuroscience patient care-Identify cost effective systems needed to support the services taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers-Establish effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, vendors and referring facilities-Develops and manages referral networks for the provision of services-Evaluates opportunities to implement new technology/services to differentiate and drive service volume-Assists in physician recruitment to support service line development-Facilitate business relationships with physicians on campus and from referring hospitals-Develop care/treatment/services within the nursing theoretical framework of modeling and role-modeling-Implement/maintain quality control and clinical outcomes programs.-Assist in the development of clinical education programs-Coordinate physician and community educational programs-Assist in the development of physician intern and residency program-Assist with marketing efforts for the service line-Establish transfer protocol for outlying facilities-Develop/strengthen relationship with EMS providers-Promote involvement of self and staff in health promotion/educational community involvement, life time learning.-Foster alliance with recognized research facility-Participate in development and evaluation of professional practice by participating on unit and/or hospital committees, special projects and attendance at staff meetings and town halls-Actively participate in unit and/or hospitals performance improvement activities Required Job Qualifications include:-Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related clinical healthcare field such as Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy-National specialty certification preferred (CNRN)-Minimum of 5 years of management experience; minimum of 5 years of clinical neuro experience-Sales, physician recruitment or physician practice experience a plus-Customer service abilities including effective listening skills-Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, strong communication skills and leadership abilities-Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
