Qualifications Masters required: nursing PhD in nursing or related field preferred 5 years experience in research, evidence based practice, outcomes management 5 years progressive leadership experience Job Overview The Director of innovation and outcomes will provide strategic leadership and vision to the Department of Innovation and Outcomes, to create a progressive agenda in the Division of Nursing to support high quality clinical programs with exemplary outcomes. The department agenda will encompass evidence based practice (EBP), research, continuous Magnet designation, quality patient safety initiatives, managing nursing outcome datasets, nursing related and interdisciplinary regulatory compliance priorities, and provision of state of the art library services Provides leadership and participates in organizational goal setting, policy development, prioritization, and problem solving consistent with the TCH mission, vision, and core strategies Strengthens the link between EBP/research and clinical practice by collaborating with other health professionals in promoting the utilization of nursing research to improve patient outcomes and enhance the environment of care. Incorporates evidence-based practice, data and benchmarking, and research in program development. Analyzes nursing practice problems for potential research investigation, participates in the development and conduction of research and/or implements findings into practice Utilizes a systematic approach to analyze complex clinical data and information in collaboration with other health care disciplines to define/clarify practice. Coordinates processes to plan, direct, coordinate and conduct nursing research activities throughout The Childrens Hospital system. Maintains and strengthens affiliation with The Childrens Hospital Research Institute, the UCHSC College of Nursing, and other nurse researchers in the community Leads the organization, in collaboration with the Magnet Coordinator, in applying the Magnet standards to the work environment and clinical practice. Collaborates intra-divisionally and inter-divisionally to identify, design and implement patient safety and quality initiatives. Participates collaboratively and actively with the Chief Quality Officer to align Hospital wide and Nursing Department goals and initiatives. Actively participates in key quality and patient safety committees. Analyzes trends and uses data to improve patient safety and care.
