When you mention the name Saskatoon
(or really, any prairie "town"), people
invariably think of an unending flat
plain of golden wheat. In fact, rumor
has it that if you stand in Manitoba
(approximately 350 kilometers or 217
miles, to the east of Saskatoon) you
can see Alberta (approximately 250
kilometers or 155 miles, to the west)!
But Saskatoon has...
Saskatoon offers culture, an excellent university,
and an array of festivals (celebrating everything
from trees to Shakespeare) in the midst of the
vast expanse of the Canadian prairies.
The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency is a provincial
organization providing leadership in cancer control
for the people of Saskatchewan through prevention,
early detection, treatment and research.
