Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change in pace with the market. Premiums: Evening - $2.75/hr, Night - $3.75/hr, Weekend - $4.00/hrThe Surgical Services Specialty Charge Nurse is a key team member who is responsible for coordinating patient care and nursing service activities for a designated specialty service and provides professional nursing care (or other services according to primary role) in assigned area. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process in the assigned unit as needed. Also ensures patient support through infection control processes, sterility assurance, and product and instrument availability. Current BLS certification.-Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience. -Computer literacy - Ability to use Surgery information systems, Word/Excel, and e-mail. -Must demonstrate advanced clinical and organizational skills related to the care of patients within the specialty. Ability to plan and modify clinical approaches. Must have knowledge of specialty procedures, along with associated equipment and supplies. Ability to scrub most specialty cases preferred.-Demonstrated knowledge, skill and experience in working collaboratively within a team and team building, problem solving, leadership, conflict resolution and excellent interpersonal communication are required. Ability to create a harmonious working environment by building relationships between team members and multiple departments. Demonstrates dedication to strong customer service with knowledge that customers exist in multiple arenas.-Ability to provide direct patient care is required. Able to discern departmental needs in managing daily workload and staffing within budget and standard of care.-Must have knowledge of human growth and development. Ability to plan and modify clinical services based on the age, growth and developmental stage of the patient.
