Ideal candidates will have GYN surgical assist experience, be patient care driven and focused on helping with quality patient outcomes. Clinical Duties: - Assist with clinic: Follow ups and new patient H&P - Dictations: H&P´s, clinic notes - Ability to write orders for tests, labs independently - Ability to read tests, labs and contact physician when appropriate - See patients on off clinic days due to concerns and problems - Answer telephone calls providing treatment plans, medication alteration along with prescribing new medications. - Admit emergent patients - FMLA, disability, workers comp paperwork Hospital: - Rounding on patients, write orders, teaching for patients - Ability to be assessable to nursing for questions/teaching - Discharge patients - Work side by side with floor nurses to facilitate quality pt care - Provide first assist coverage at various hospitals. This provider can be a Nurse Practitioner who has finished the appropriate training and certifications in Women´s Care (prenatal care and well woman exams). Qualified candidates must possess a Nurse Practitioner License as well as excellent communication, clinical, and leadership skills. There are opportunities to be working with multiple clinics and have association with John Peter Smith Hospital. The candidate would be providing prenatal care and well woman exams in a clinic environment. Physician supervision is available by phone, but is not on-site. Physician will review charts monthly. Patients needing care that NP cannot provide are referred to a physician. Deliveries are done by the teaching faculty and residents at JPS. The work schedule is M-F, 8-5 PM.
