Immediate opening exists for a Pharmacist to join Rutherford Hospital in southwestern North Carolina.

Rutherford Hospital is located in Rutherfordton, NC in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Rutherfordton is an hour west of Charlotte, NC, an hour southeast of Asheville, NC and an hour northeast of Greenville, SC with each location hosting a major airport.We currently staff the pharmacy with 5 Pharmacists. Pharmacists work 40 hours per week. Remote Pharmacy Consultants provide after-hours order entry and consultation for the nursing staff. We use the Meditech Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) system with bedside barcode scanning. Clinical provider order entry (CPOE) is in the developing phase. The pharmacist is responsible for sterile preparations expertise, staff training and development, and for verifying the accuracy of all items dispensed. Categories of work include pediatric syringes, large and small volume parenterals, adult and pediatric parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, inhalation syringes, investigational IVs, ophthalmic drops, and ophthalmic injectables.Education Doctor of Pharmacy Degree OR BS Pharmacy Degree Experience * Previous experience in sterile preparations and parenteral therapy preferred.Two years of clinical experience or acceptable board certification, or completion of an accredited clinical residency program, and a demonstrated ability to achieve positive patient outcomes in a similar environment (This experience only required for those with BS Pharmacy degree; Doctor of Pharmacy degree sufficient to minimally qualify without experience.)
