The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator procures, allocates, and maintains disaster equipment and supplies to meet HRSA and UASI federal grant requirements and surge capacity needs required to deliver quality patient care. The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator develops and monitors operational policies and procedures to ensure disaster preparedness and compliance. The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator conducts and/or ensures the rotation and documentation of pharmaceuticals, maintaining current expirations of pharmaceutical cache to comply with policy and procedures. The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator acquires and demonstrates current knowledge of disaster preparedness practices, policy and procedures, and provides assistance with ongoing staff training to ensure compliance with disaster preparedness requirements.Requirements: Registration by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy or enrollment in a board certified training program with registry within six months of employment and receive certification within nine months.Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma-required/ Bachelors is preferred.

This position requires 3-5 years of pharmacy experience in a hospital setting with a PharmD and completion of a residency program, preferably in the areas of critical care and/or pain management. This position does require previous supervisory experience--an excellent fit for a clinical coordinator or manager seeking a change of pace or environment in a growing yet established community hospital.
