Job Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist position liaises with an interdisciplinary team including board-certified geneticists and support staff to provide telephone and web-based contemporary professional education regarding pharmacogenetics and genetic testing for health care providers, patients, payors, and other GH clients; and clinical pharmacy expertise and guidance to Generation Health´s internal and external customers.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:1.Daily telephone interactions with healthcare providers, patients, and laboratories regarding all aspects of pharmacogenetic testing (coverage of pharmacogenetic tests based on established prior authorization rules, explanation of test results, help with the selection of alternative therapies, sample submission and laboratory procedures)2.Guide clinicians in identifying the appropriate patients for pharmacogenetic testing based on prescription, clinical history, and previous genetic test results3.Contribute to the design, creation and implementation of clinical communications content necessary to support the company call center and operations4.Serve as a clinical pharmacy expert for other GH departments including marketing, sales and operations5.Review and edit educational materials in pharmacogenetics for healthcare professionals, patients and other GH clients as needed6.Assist in the development, enhancement and implementation of rules sets for clinical decision support and Prior Authorization of genetic tests7.Develop and present in-house and client educational and training programs8.Attend professional meetings and participate in professional organizations Qualifications: Minimum of a PharmD in Pharmacy and current MA Pharmacy License. At least 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience, with PBM and prior pharmacogenetics experience preferred.Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:* Bilingual (English and Spanish) written and verbal communication skills strongly preferred* Clinical pharmacology expertise, contemporary analytical skills and detail orientation that will enable the identification of current drug ADME, drug-drug interactions, potentially serious adverse effects, appropriate drug dosage requirements and dosage adjustments/calculations aligning with medically-recommended solutions* Familiar with JCAHO standards, State and Federal regulations* Extensive knowledge of disease state management, intravenous therapy, drug information (drug actions, incompatibilities, interactions, dosage ranges, and side effects), and legal requirements* Ability to communicate effective drug information, counseling, and therapeutic interventions* Attention to customer focus, ensuring that response to both medical professionals and patients is accurate and timely* Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, providing leadership to enable timely completion of assigned work requirements* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse customer base* Strong analytic and decision-making skills* Desire and energy to thrive in a young company* Prior knowledge or experience in pharmacogenetics a plus
