Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and/or the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, the Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, effective and cost-effective use of drugs through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and professional judgment. The staff pharmacist shall perform drug packaging, patient billing, all aspects of drug compounding and distributions, shall provide drug information and clinical service to all health professionals and patients, and monitor all aspects of drug therapy in the facility. The staff Pharmacist supervises pharmacy technicians and interns. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Required Job Qualifications include:• Graduate of a college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education. • BS or Pharm.D degree. • State licensure as a Pharmacist. • BLS and ACLS • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

It is the responsibility of the Pharmacist to demonstrate proficiency in all modalities of pharmacy care.•Provide age specific pharmacy care for neonate through geriatric patients•Exercise judgment within the guidelines of the medical plan of care, department policy and licensure practice acts.•Integrate knowledge of pharmacology, selection and distribution of drug therapy into critical thinking decisions regarding administration to the patient.•Perform skillfully in the documentation of the drug therapy process.•Contribute to the plan of care and patient/family education regarding drug therapy.•Integrate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to support patient care and meeting healthcare needs.•Intervene to support staff and physicians in drug therapy issues.•Appraise the appropriateness of pharmaceutical therapy.•Collaborate with the healthcare team to perform quality analysis of work processes and performance improvement goals.•Support the mission, vision and values of the organization.Requirements:•Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacology.•Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy is required.•Completion of Pharmacy Residency Program, required.•Minimum of one-year experience in acute care hospital within the last three years, preferred.

Cardon Children’s Medical Center is a new 200 bed hospital located on the campus of Banner Desert Medical Center in metro Phoenix Arizona. The campus has a total of 700 licensed beds. CCMC includes a 24 bed PICU, 24 bed Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit, 72 General Pediatric patient beds, Pediatric outpatient treatment center and an 80 bed Level Three NICU.
