Position Summary: Performs technical duties related to drug distribution and dispensing as a member of the pharmaceutical team to improve the outcome and quality of patient care, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital´s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Required Education/Training: HS graduate or the equivalent GED. Some college preferred. Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred. Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience (with IV admixture) preferred. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to utilize computer equipment, prepackaging machines, needles/syringes, and medication carts. Needs basic mathematical skills and a working knowledge of the metric system.

Position Summary: Performs technical duties related to the preparation and delivery of chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications to patients in the ambulatory care and inpatient areas. Assists the pharmacists and nurses with the provision of patients’ pharmaceutical needs. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Required Education/Training: High school diploma or GED. Pharmacy Technician Certification preferredRequired Experience: Minimum of three years as a hospital or home healthcare infusion pharmacy technician. Some chemotherapy experience is preferred. Extensive knowledge of chemotherapy agents and intravenous admixture preparation, good written and verbal communication skills, and basic computer skill.
