Site Description: Hartzells Pharmacy, established in 1968, is an independent family-owned pharmacy located in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, which is located in the Lehigh Valley Area, approximately 90 minutes northwest of Philadelphia and 2 hours southwest of New York City. Clinical services offered at Hartzells Pharmacy include immunization and travel medicine clinics, medication therapy management, health and wellness services, durable medical equipment, and respiratory therapy. Hartzells also offers medication services to assisted living facilities, and has a specialty compounding pharmacy, Catasauqua Compounding Pharmacy, within its facility. Clinical staff includes clinical and compounding pharmacists, respiratory therapist, dietitian, registered nurse, specialty ostomy nurse, and massage therapist. Hartzells Pharmacy is also has a Community Pharmacy Residency Program at its site affiliated with Wilkes University.Position Description: The pharmacist in this position would be contracted for 32-40 hours per week split between Hartzells Pharmacy and Catasauqua Compounding Pharmacy. The position would entail taffing in numerous areas of the business, including community pharmacy, vaccine clinic, long-term care pharmacy services, clinical screenings, and compounding (approximately 20-30 hours per week will be spent at Catasauqua Compounding Pharmacy). Catasauqua Compounding Pharmacy does a wide variety of compounding, including bio-identical hormone replacement, veterinary products, and hospice care. Opportunities would also be available for involvement in precepting students and the resident for interested candidates.Qualifications: Candidate must have graduated from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy, and be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Having pharmacy-based immunization training would be a plus, but not a requirement for the position.
