To provide Pharmacy services to Government beneficiaries (military dependents and retirees) as an employee of Veritas Healthcare, Inc. Duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:•Utilize computerized pharmacy systems.•Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.•Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.•Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.•Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing in order to closely monitor medication therapy.•Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancy of above listed items.•Compound medications as required. •Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.•Work closely with clinical staff in developing patient wellness programs such as smoking cessation programs and asthma classes.•Provide medication information and medication therapy guidelines to the clinical staff as required.•Provide medication and healthcare related in service training to clinical staff on new medications on the market; appropriate use of medications; comparison of current medication therapies; and other topics as deemed appropriate by the department head. •Provide clinical direction of corpsmen and pharmacy technicians and provide input into job performance evaluations.•Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security. Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.•Consult with other specialty practitioners to provide optimal patient pharmaceutical care.•Ensure that work areas are clean and safe according to applicable regulations.•Document significant medication interactions, and pharmacy interactions with prescribers. Conduct Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting in accordance with TJC standards.•Facilitate medical staff drug utilization reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary.•The Element Chief will make specific duties and patient care assignments.•Be productive and perform with minimal supervisory direction.•Notify the MTF Public Health Office of the diagnosis of all diseases and conditions which are reportable to local health authorities and/or the Air Force in accordance with Air Force and MTF policies.•Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.•Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.7:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., Monday – Friday.Clinic hours subject to alteration by Command based on patient needs.N/A$52/hr. plus an annual CME allowance ($2,500), sign-on bonus ($2,500), paid vacation, paid holidays, medical, dental and vision health benefits. Relocation allowance available.Provider shall receive three (3) weeks paid time off plus ten (10) federal holidays and ten (10) sick days per year. The contract registered pharmacist must have a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE). Provider is also required to have current BLS certification (prior to start), active, unrestricted licensure in any one of the United States, and U.S. citizenship. In addition, a minimum of two years experience, within the last three years, is required.
