This position will provide pharmaceutical care to patients at the point of service including counseling, clinical monitoring, drug utilization review and dispensing. Practices pharmacy within all applicable legal requirements and Kaiser Permanente guidelines including dispensing and compounding prescriptions and supervising pharmacy interns and technicians. Shares equally in processing the daily prescription volume including dispensing/compounding and providing cognitive services. Provides liaison to other departments, physicians, other health care professionals and outside agencies as necessary. Works with multiple computer applications within the organization and department such as: pharmacy information management, member information management, point of sale programs, Windows-based programs, Internet navigation/programs and electronic messaging.Essential Functions:• Provide pharmaceutical care to patients (includes compounding and dispensing medications, patient counseling and cognitive services)• Provide rational drug therapy by promoting the Drug Formulary of the Ohio Region• Supervise the daily activities of the technical staff• Function as the Pharmacist in charge in the absence of the Chief Pharmacist or as designated by the Chief PharmacistBasic Qualifications:• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy• Registered Pharmacist, State of Ohio Must be able to travel to various facilities.
