Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy. Supervises certain distributive, clinical and administrative functions of the outpatient pharmacy. Supervises, coordinates, trains, and evaluates clerks, technician students, technicians, interns, students and pharmacists. Interfaces with prescribers, nurses, patients, and ancillary departments. Responsible for the integrity, accuracy and security of the controlled substance inventory and distribution system. Advises director on development, implementation, and revision of department policies and procedures. Ensures and evaluates staff compliance with all laws and regulations. Responsible for coordinating continuous quality improvement activities in the outpatient pharmacy. If working in the mail order pharmacy, also responsible for all operations of drug distribution for mail order. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy. Community pharmacy supervisory experience preferred. California Registered Pharmacist Required. Computer data input. Communication, supervisory, and teaching skills are essential, teamwork negotiation and mitigation skills. Willingness to discipline and provide constructive criticism. Analytical skills, prioritization and time management skills, and computer skills preferred. Good writing skills; must maintain good judgment and self-direction to work under general supervision; must possess initiative innovation and self-direction
