Detailed Position Description Responsible for the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of medications through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and professional judgment.Serves as a patient advocate when planning and implementing pharmaceutical care by considering the patients disease conditions, background, need for understanding, and participation in drug therapy in a fiscally responsible manner.These activities occur in all aspects of pharmacy practice including adult and pediatric inpatient areas, operating room pharmacies, ambulatory oncology and outpatient services (ie., Bolwell Pharmacy).The pharmacist is legally responsible for the review and approval of all activities related to the dispensing of patient specific pharmaceuticals pursuant to a valid prescription or medication order from a practitioner as defined in ORC 4729, 4715, 4731, and/or 4741. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values. Position Requirements Previous hospital experience with emphasis on computerized unit dose, sterile products, and patient focused clinical skills preferred.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic.Proficient computer skills.Familiar with operation of standard office equipment including automated compounding system. Education Requirements Bachelors degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy Licensure License/Certification Requirements Licensed practitioner of health sciences profession in the State of Ohio (R.
