Responsibilities: Manages, supervises and coordinates all activities within the Outpatient Pharmacy Managed Programs including but not limited to the Anticoagulation Services at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center and Harford Memorial Hospital campuses. Responsibilities include program development, leadership and supervision of staff. In conjunction with physician medical directors develops and implements services to meet patient, community and medical staff needs. Develops and oversees the capital and operating budgets as well as assessment of staffing needs to provide cost effective services that meets Upper Chesapeake Health operational and financial goals. Also performs job functions of an Anticoagulation Services Pharmacist. Qualifications: Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy; Doctorate of Pharmacy, Hospital Residency, managing anticoagulation therapy in patients, or similar experience desirable. Licensed, or eligible, to practice pharmacy in the State of Maryland. Applicants whose Maryland licensure is pending reciprocity from another state, will work under direct supervision of a licensed staff pharmacist (for a period not to exceed 60 days) until Maryland licensure is obtained. Must obtain certification in managing anticoagulation therapy within 1 year from date-of-hire. Prior hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred. Previous experience in anticoagulation therapy management required. Minimum of (3) years experience as a Manager or Director of similar program. Working knowledge of CQI/PI principles and Joint Commission standards compliance. Competent with Excel and PowerPoint software in development of program reports and presentations.
