The Dean provides academic and administrative leadership for the School and reports to the Provost who also serves as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.One of the four campuses of the University of Missouri System, UMKC has a student enrollment of over 14,000. Its educational mission emphasizes three areas: health and life sciences, visual and performing arts, and urban engagement. UMKC is unique in its dynamic mix of graduate and professional schools which encourages innovative research, partnerships, and educational programming that span traditional disciplinary boundaries. Founded in 1885, the UMKC School of Pharmacy is the only public school of pharmacy in the state of Missouri. Organized into three academic divisions, Pharmacy Practice and Administration, Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School offers professional practice (doctor of pharmacy-Pharm.D.), non-practice bachelors (B.S.) and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) degrees. Graduates have a nearly 100% placement rate prior to graduation. Throughout the state of Missouri as well as nationally, they manage and own pharmacies, develop innovative community and healthcare system practices, participate in post-graduate residency programs, and work in pharmacy education, the pharmaceutical industry, and government service among the hundreds of pharmacy career options. The School of Pharmacy is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). The doctor of pharmacy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).Nominees and applicants must hold a Pharm.D. and/or a Ph.D. Candidates should be eligible for appointment as a tenured professor. A proven track record of increasing leadership responsibilities in academic pharmacy is required. Further, successful candidates must have experience in developing methods to recognize and support excellence in teaching, research and clinical practice.
