Location: Brooklyn NY. Facility: Community Mental Health Center that services the entire NYC area and Westchester County. They provide outpatient services for both children, adolescents and adult patients. Position: (possible to combine other p/t needs to make full time job) Part-Time need 21 hours a week. This position is working 100% outpatient no call with adult patients. These patients are seriously ill that live in assisted care housing. The outpatient program is a step down from the PHP program. Providing medical management, evaluations, treatment team leader and possible supervisors of physician extenders. Compensation: Employed our I/C options. Psychiatrist will work with soldiers affected by mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other conditions presented as a result of deployment. Psychiatrist will play a significant role in the rehabilitation of those who serve our country. Qualifications: Education: Contract service provider shall be a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), must have completed an ACGME accredited residency in Psychiatry or be American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board-eligible or certified in Psychiatry. Foreign medical graduates in Psychiatry shall possess a valid certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must have and maintain a current license to medicine in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands that allows for the independent practice of clinical services. Must maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number. Experience: Have been continuously employed in the practice of medicine or in training for the one year prior to the commencement of services under this contract. Clinical experience diagnosing and treating primary care conditions and knowledge of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and related conditions. There is some travel associated with this position.

Credentials Required * Maintains a current medical or osteopathic physicians license and a DEA number. * Maintains a current CPR certification. * Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry Duties and Responsibilities:* Ensures that all patients receive appropriate care. * Performs a routine mental health exams on inmates referred by nursing, medical professional staff, correctional staff, and social workers, under established guidelines. * Provides psychiatric treatment and orders; studies, tests, referrals, and ancillary services that are required and that are consistent with medical/psychiatric authority´s commitment to provide basic mental health care services. * Orders medications for mental health needs while adhering to the established formulary, and in compliance with MHM policies and procedures. * Also evaluates inmates on psychotropic medications and conduct psychotropic medication reviews. * Performs all duties in keeping with education, training, and/or experience, the scope of practice set forth by the Maryland Board of Medicines Professional and Vocational Standards. * Legibly documents all patient encounters in the medical and/or mental health record using the format delineated in the contract. This includes, but is not limited to, all entries being dated, timed and having the author´s legible signature or name stamp. * Participates in the development and monitoring of mental health policies and procedures. * Establishes and promotes a mental health team that collaborates in the monitoring of inmates requiring on-going mental health services and the development of individualized mental health treatment plans. * Upholds all rules and regulations governing the mental health patient´s confidentiality. * Participates in Infection Control, Quality Improvement, and Peer Review activities and committee meetings as they relate to mental health issues. * Oversees in-service training on mental health related topics for MHM Staff. * Follows designated chain of command for resolution of problems and questions. * Uses Universal Precautions at all times, including while disposing of needles/syringes. * Accepts on-call (beeper) responsibilities as scheduled. * Prepares required reports and completes required paperwork as it relates to the mental health care programs and services in the expected time frame. * Attends seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. as required by MHM. * Attends staff meetings, as well as other meetings as required. * Maintains a current copy of his/her license, as well as current CPR certification on file with MHM. * Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Experience and Educational Requirements:* Completed an accredited residency program. * Board certified or eligible in Psychiatry. * Prefer a minimum of two (2) year of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting. Experience in correctional health care also preferred. * Must receive and maintain satisfactory background investigation report.
