Grant Medical Center, a 645-bed, a nationally recognized and growing Level 1 Trauma Center in Columbus, Ohio is seeking additional Trauma Surgeons for its trauma team. The group admits over 3,500 patients annually drawing from a 46 county region and supports an emergency department with an annual census of over 60,000. Grant has trained trauma specialists dedicated to trauma in orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, and vascular surgery. Subspecialty support is provided in ophthalmology, ob/gyn, anesthesia, urology, as well as in-house radiology and interventional radiology. The Department has multi-detector CAT scans and dedicated ICU/intermediate trauma care/acute care units. Grants new, $59 million surgical and heart center includes 18 state-of-the-art surgical suites. Medical Education includes involvement with trauma fellows, SICU fellows, orthopedic trauma fellows, and general surgery, ER, pediatric ER, and family medicine residents. Verified as a Level 1 Trauma Center since 1991 by the American College of Surgeons, Grants Trauma Department has been featured on two nationally televised programs: The Learning Channels Trauma: Life in the ER and The Discovery Health Channels Critical Hour, in 2001 and 2002. In 2006 and 2005, Grants Coronary Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit/Trauma Critical Care Unit each received the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Education, research, outreach, injury prevention and substance abuse complement Grants Trauma services, making it an exceptional program.
