Physician Peer Coach Mentoring with Nationwide Opportunities
Workplace Behavioral Solutions, Inc. (WBS) is looking for Physician Peer Coaches for our new Physician Wellness Services (PWS) division. As a Physician Peer Coach, you will work with fellow physicians, primarily in The Physician EAP program, around personal and work-related stressors. Using your physicians perspective, you are able to relate to physician stress, practice-related pressures, work and life balance, managing an adverse medical event and other concerns. You will provide mentoring or peer coaching to other physicians as it relates to physician stress, practice-related pressures, work and life balance, managing an adverse medical event and other concerns. Collaborate and coordinate with a PWS multi-disciplinary team in assisting physician clients. Giving preference to applicants with an active medical practice and some administrative experience in a clinical setting, flexible scheduling to speak with physician clients within 24 hours of an accepted referral is a must. A successful candidate will have at least five years of post-residency medical practice, with clinical and administrative/managerial experience. You need an active license to practice medicine and in good standing with practicing states medical board. Have ready access to confidential e-mail, fax, high speed internet and files. Regular, timely communication with PWS staff regarding scheduling, credentialing, case-specific data and billing. You will have convenient scheduling options, up to and including an electronic calendar made available to PWS and access to professional office space to meet with physician clients, and/or willingness to travel to PWS-designated office space. Possess strong technology and computer skills and the ability and willingness to handle own administrative tasks. You will not provide medical or mental health diagnoses or create a physician/patient relationship, although you may refer clients to physicians, mental or behavioral health professionals for treatment, in consultation with other PWS staff. The PWS product suite, comprised of The Physician EAP, Physician Intervention Services, and training and consulting products and services, supports organizations that employ physicians with solutions designed specifically for physicians only. The Physician EAP allows physicians and their families to reach out easily and confidentially for the help they need in a variety of work- and life-related areas, allowing problems to be addressed at their earliest stages before they negatively impact work performance and satisfaction. Physician Intervention Services assists organizations in effectively and compassionately aiding individual physicians who have performance issues, and/or engage in disruptive behavior, with customized approaches to identifying and dealing with problems at multiple levels. Training and consulting services allow organizations to obtain qualified help and advice in areas as diverse as dealing with workplace conflict, to setting and implementing effective HR policies and procedures for all staff members, to achieving work and life balance. Staffed by a nationwide team of licensed masters- and doctorate-level senior consultants, MD peer coaches, psychiatrists, clinicians and other behavioral health specialists, all with deep experience in dealing with the issues surrounding physician performance, satisfaction and retention, our ultimate goal is to proactively help physicians and organizations address issues before they escalate to the point of affecting physician performance and patient safety.We have nationwide opportunities in over 20 target markets.
