Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC), a 250 bed, full service regional referral center, seeks a BE/BC pulmonologist to work in our hospital employed outpatient-only practice. Our unique model allows for an inpatient pulmonary service that is covered by other members of our group. Our medical center has a brand new state-of-the-art pulmonary physiology lab including cardiopulmonary exercise testing, a new bronchoscopy unit with endobronchial ultrasound, and offers patients laser bronchoscopy, stent placement and other interventional bronchoscopic procedures. There is also an AACVPR accredited phase 2 and phase 3 pulmonary rehab program. Support services include thoracic surgery, oncology, and radiation therapy with on site PET scanning. The Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine have two openings for a one-year training program in lung transplant starting July 1, 2010. The program is a part of an established multi-disciplinary team in advanced lung disease and lung transplantation and coordinates closely with other solid-organ transplant programs. Approximately 60 lung transplants are done each year. The lung transplant team consists of two pulmonary/Critical care/Transplant attendings, two senior and one junior transplant fellows, three transplant surgeons and several nurse coordinators. This is a Texas Board approved fellowship. Applicants should be BE/BC in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.
