A well established, busy, independent, 11-orthopedic surgeon group practice is seeking a board certified, orthopedic trauma surgeon to join its group and provide care at a regional, level II, trauma center.
University Orthopedics Center (to practice at Altoona Regional Health System)University Orthopedics (UOC) is a busy 11-orthopedic surgeon group practice located in Altoona / central Pennsylvania. The Group practices at Altoona Regional Health System (ARHS), a 500- bed, 2-hospital campus (Altoona Hospital campus and Bon Secours hospital campus) system. UOC, working in conjunction with Altoona Regional Health System, is seeking a board certified, orthopedic trauma surgeon to do 80% trauma and 20% non-trauma orthopedic care. UOC is a full service orthopedic center providing a comprehensive range of orthopedic care, including: sports medicine; total joint replacement; spine; fracture care; care for: knee, hip, hand, foot and ankle, and shoulder and elbow. UOC medical staff includes 11 orthopedic surgeons and 2 pain management physicians. As a regional health care system, ARHS is a level II trauma center – providing care to 1,200 – 1,300 trauma patients per year, and provides the following regional services: open heart surgery and cardiac care, neurosurgery, cancer center, JCAHO accredited stroke center, behavioral health, vascular & wound care. The medical staff is comprised of over 300 primary care and medical and surgical specialists.
