We need an additional Internal Medicine physician to join an inpatient/outpatient practice with a reasonable 1:4 call schedule. This is not a hospitalist position. A community hospital in a very family oriented area in South Central Louisiana is looking for a physician to establish a solo private practice to include inpatient and outpatient care including ICU coverage. Compensation and Benefits like this are hard to find. Package includes the following: Salary and benefits = $160,000, $30,000 signing bonus, $10,000 relocation expense and $2,000 in marketing dollars to establish the practice in the local area. In addition, the hospital will assist with consultants to help start the practice and all practice expenses paid for the first year. Patient load to begin would be approximately 10-15/day and will increase to 20-25/day over the first year. Shared call rotation of 1:6 for unassigned E.R patients and weekends. The hospital has a 24 hour emergency department and is currently remodeling or has remodeled a few other departments. The community is home to several national retailers and is just 36 miles from an international airport.
