The Center for Restorative Care and Rehabilitation (CRCR) is seeking an experienced Pulmonologist to join our staff of professionals! The opportunity offers: * A treatment team approach where care is individualized and resource-intensive;* A competitive salary and benefits package; and* Call coverage of 1:5 (weekdays) and every 3rd weekend.The optimal candidate will be ABMS Board Certified with a background and strong interest in the care of patients with complex extended medical needs, specifically ventilator patients.The CRCR is central Virginia’s long-term acute care hospital for patients with complex extended medical needs. Located on the campus of Centra’s Virginia Baptist Hospital, CRCR is a specialized “hospital within a hospital” equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. It is wholly owned by Centra, a nonprofit regional health care system based in Lynchburg, Virginia. CRCR clinical services include: * Medically complex and multi-system failure – pulmonary disease, cardiac disease, oncology, neuromuscular disease (ALS), gastrointestinal disease, post-op complications, acute renal failure, multi-trauma; * Complex wound care and management; * Ventilator management – present dependence, difficult to wean, assisted or partial dependence, training for discharge home with ventilator dependence; and * Rehabilitation – acute neurological and musculoskeletal problems.Lynchburg is a vibrant central city fostering a strong sense of community.
