Part Time Nephrologist Needed in Ohio

DATES: 3 day coverage (Friday - Sunday) once or twice a month beginning March - September *As long as candidate can offer at least one weekend coverage per month, the candidate will be considered. SPECIFIC DATES: March 27 - April 3 or April 17 - April 23 ASSIGNMENT DETAILS: - Rounding and taking nightly call. - Board eligible or certified. - BLS certification required. - 100% Nephrology (kidney disease/hypertension) and providing general medical care for dialysis patients as well.- Consults for patients with secondary related conditions.- Dialysis patients represent more than half of the patient census. - Two physicians in practice. - Patient Census is typically 15 - 20 between all three hospitals. - Rounds to be completed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.- Start time is approximately 8:30 am. Work until finished (usually 6 hours). Paid for 8 hour minimum. Start time flexible. - No rounding on dialysis patients, inpatients only. - Call questions are typically rare and if called, questions are typically related to dialysis patients. - If dialysis patient were to be admitted, the Nephrologist becomes the attending physician. - Write dialysis orders; acute dialysis/inpatient dialysis. - Not responsible for off hours admits. - Nurse Practitioner works on Fridays, but not on the weekends. NP on call over the weekend (for questions). - Must be able to do femoral lines and IJ´s. - Management of dialysis patients: CRRT, Hemo, and Peritoneal required. Post renal transplants not required.- Procedures: Dialysis catheter placement required. Renal biopsy and peritoneal dialysis catheter placement not required.

The HospitalSouthern Tennessee Medical Center (STMC), in conjunction with its sister campus, Emerald-Hodgson Hospital, includes a 152-bed acute care facility and a 46-bed skilled care facility. The hospital is Joint Commission-accredited and serves south central Tennessee. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children (IFHC) has an opening for a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist to join a group of pediatric nephrologists in a well established and growing clinical practice in Northern Virginia and Metropolitan Washington, DC. The Department of Pediatrics at IFHC is affiliated with the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, and the Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, we are also the Division of Pediatric Nephrology for Georgetown University Hospital, Department of pediatrics. Pediatric Nephrology is part of a Pediatric multi-specialty practice and offers complete clinical programs for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired acute and chronic kidney disease at all stages, including end-stage renal disease. Inpatient consultation is provided to large and highly rated PICU, NICU, and general Pediatric services. Outpatient diagnostic renal ultrasound, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and all forms of renal replacement therapy are provided by the nephrology service. Renal transplantation is provided at IFHC by an active transplant program with four full-time surgeons.Both active teaching in a well-established Pediatric Residency Program and clinical research are encouraged. IFHC has recently been named as a top 25 Children´s hospital in national rankings, and IFH is perennially ranked as a top 100 hospital in the US.
