The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for the clinical leadership of the Company, encompassing domestic and international programs for commercial and government clients.
SCOPE: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for the clinical leadership of the Company, encompassing domestic and international programs for commercial and government clients. CHS is a global healthcare organization, and the CMO must have extensive experience in clinical policy and management that includes primary care, occupational health, preventive health, pandemic planning, and travel medicine. The CMO is responsible for clinical quality and for the standardization of clinical practice across the entire organization. The CMO is charged with managing the professional and clinical staff assigned to the clinical functions of the Company. Participation in strategic planning, contribution to high-level sales and marketing activities, participation in the continued evolution of CHS health care information systems, and representing the Company at appropriate industry events are all core to the position. The CMO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of CHS. QUALIFICATIONS:Requirements: A medical degree, either an M.D. or a D.O; board certifications in both a primary care specialty (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) and Occupational Medicine; hands on clinical experience; a strategic vision of the domestic and international health care delivery marketplace; seven years of experience in a corporate managerial position; excellent communication skills including ease with public speaking; publication in peer-reviewed professional journals; and the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Preferences: an advanced degree in management, such as an M.B.A., M.P.H. or M.H.A; onsite health care experience; experience with various electronic medical record (EMR) platforms; experience with population health management solutions; and experience with telemedicine solutions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide clinical policy and leadership to professional staff through participation or leadership in the Medical Advisory Committee, the Policy and Procedures Committee, the Pandemic Planning Committee and by providing leadership to the CHS Associate Medical Directors, the CHS Quality Department and to the Department of Onsite Clinical Care.Participate in strategic planning of disease management and prevention programs, including outcomes analysis and population management strategies.Provide leadership and direction relative to the role of telemedicine within CHS clinical delivery models. Participate and provide leadership in the continuing evolution of the Companys various health care information technology initiatives.Oversee utilization management guidelines and policy.Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions for the purposes of business and research collaboration.Identify and assess potential business alliances that are consistent with CHS strategic vision. Participate in executive strategic planning. Support sales and marketing efforts.
