Cooley Dickinson Hospital, a dynamic and growing 142-bed community hospital located in Western Massachusetts, is seeking a Vice President of Medical Affairs. The VPMA will be a member of the Senior Management Team of the Hospital, who not only manages a portion of the organization, but also fulfills a key liaison role between the medical staff, administration and Board of Directors. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced physician leader who is excited by the prospect of joining the staff of a full-service, highly regarded community hospital and playing a leadership role in our continuous drive for the highest quality patient care.The ideal candidate will be a board-certified physician, primary care trained and/or knowledgeable; have a demonstrated track record of success and leadership working as a CMO or VPMA; be well-versed in quality improvement efforts (i.e. IHI, Premier, Microsystems); be current on the various state and federal agency laws, regulations and standards; be well-read on the current debate on health care reform; possess excellent communication, presentation and diplomacy skills; and have experience with medical staff planning and development, physician recruitment and retention.Hospital programs and services include 24-hour emergency care, hospitalist and Intensivist programs; state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services; medical, surgical, cardiac and cancer care services; interventional radiology; childbirth and women´s health services; behavioral health services; rehabilitation services; a joint replacement center; and a minimally invasive and robotic surgery program. Outpatient services are also provided at the hospital as well as from offices located in Northampton, Easthampton, Amherst, Florence, Hadley, Belchertown, Williamsburg and South Deerfield. In addition to hospital and outpatient-based services, visiting nurses and hospice provide a broad spectrum of health care to community members at home.
