Qualifications: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: - Conduct psychiatric assessments and establish diagnoses. - Prescribe appropriate treatment plans and prescribe therapy, psychotherapy, orrehabilitation programs. - Maintain records of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis - Perform related duties as assigned.Knowledge of: - Current developments, trends and research in the field of medicine and psychiatry. - Basic understanding of clinical supervisory principles and practices. - Pharmacology and psychopharmacology including laws regarding informed consent,dosage ranges, drug incompatibilities, and side effects. - Proper documentation of clinical services. - Treatment approaches and differential diagnoses of the mentally ill. - HIPAA regulations. - Medical ethics.Education and Experience:Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program. Licensure/Certification: License to practice medicine in the State of Texas, or willing to apply for licensure, which can now be rapidly obtained by a qualified MD. Medicare Certification preferred but not mandatory.
