Denver Health is seeking a head of the Division of Pediatric Emergency.
The Division is integrated with the Department of Emergency Medicine and has a combined emergency medicine and pediatric staff. The Department of Emergency Medicine oversees a busy emergency department with 80,000 visits, the pre-hospital care system for the City and County of Denver including an EMT/paramedic school, a highly-competitive residency and fellowship program and a growing research portfolio including NIH funding. The Pediatric Emergency Department is a newly opened state of the art facility that will see over 30,000 patients in its first year of operation. DH is a national model integrated urban safety net health care system that serves as a Level I trauma center for the Rocky Mountain Region. The system includes a 500 bed acute care hospital ( the busiest in Colorado), eight community health centers, the public health department, the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center, a 100 bed non-medical detoxification center, the Rocky Mountain Center for the Medical Response to Terrorism, Mass Casualties and Epidemics, and an HMO. The system serves 150,000 users. DH is formally affiliated with the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and all faculty have full-time academic appointments.Candidates must be Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Board of Pediatrics, have a commitment to clinical care, teaching, and leadership. Candidates must currently be at least at the Associate Professor academic level.
